Our Mission
Resident Action Committee II is a 501c3 organization with a mission to serve and rebuild our community by providing resources through programs, education, and events. We promote peace, anti-violence, and community power in everything we do.
We have been in the Task-Morris Community in Grays Ferry for over 39 years; building a family, a home, and a place where we want to show opportunity for all. We have a saying here, “show them different, and they will want different." We are trying to show our youth and our community that there is more out there.
From our flag football and basketball leagues to providing meals for young ones, we provide opportunities to help grow and better our community. We have had speaker sessions throughout the Philadelphia area where we were able to tell our story, stress the importance of the environment, and emphasize to our young adults that their future belongs to them. RAC2 hosts a variety of events for the community and young adults. We have planned day trips to Washington D.C., The African American Museum, and Wildwood. We have held bowling events to celebrate our people, and winter coat drives to keep our community warm.
If we show them different, they will want different.
